Biography:
Adela or Dely was born on November 14, 1929. Her parents were Cipriano (Anong) Mojica and Rosario (Charing) Saria. She and her siblings were raised in General Trias (Malabon), Philippines then moved to Cavite City (Gangley/Matadero), Philippines in mid 1950s. After completing her secondary studies at Cavite High School, she studied and received her Elementary Teaching Credentials at St. Joseph College, Cavite City, Philippines. She then started teaching at Tejero Elementary School for several years then taught at Pasong Camachile high school. Adela was a devoted teacher.
It was in the mid 1950s when she met a handsome U.S. Navy man by the name of Agustin (Usteng) Crisostomo Taglinao whom she fell deeply in love and got married in 1956. Soon after, they bought a house located at 596 Lopez Jaena Street, Cavite City Philippines where they raised all their children. They were blessed with five children, first child, Marisa (1958), Luz (1959), Linda (1963), their only son Gary (1966) and Irma (1969). Dely and Usteng were happily married for 44 years.
Through the years, she donated her time to ensure that a chapel was built, where she grew up. She held yearly event, which assisted others by providing basic necessities like food. She has shown her compassion to others through her actions.
Dely and Usteng loved to visit all their children. They both enjoyed playing at the casino whether Las Vegas, Laughlin or Reno back in the late 1980s up to mid 1990s. They had fond memories whenever they visit Japan and the US. They loved to visit Pearl Harbor, Honolulu that bring back memories of World War II, hiking at Yosemite or just taking a stroll at the Long Beach pier.
After Adela's husband passed away in 2000, she moved to United States in 2004. She found Chula Vista as her new home and lived with her only son, Gary and wife Rose. Adela also loved spending time and visiting the rest of her daughters' families in San Diego, Long Beach, La Palma and Tracy California. She met lots of relatives and gained lots of friends whenever she travels to these different cities.
Adela was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grand mother to most. She was well loved by everybody as she was a very kind and caring person, always ready to help others.
Her life was a living example of a Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Adela leaves her children, Marisa Taglinao Santa Ana & her husband Pepito, Luz Taglinao Geronimo & her husband Elmer, Linda Taglinao Campana & her husband Christopher, Gary Taglinao & his wife Rose and Irma Taglinao Bernal & her husband Rowen. She is also survived by her grandchildren Justin, Carlo, Christian, Toni Rose and husband Mike, Mariel, Victoria, Catherine, Jacquelyn, Angela, Hanna, Lauren and great granddaughter Elyse.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Agustin Crisostomo Taglinao, sibling Delfina (Darling), survived by siblings Amelia (Maling) and Rogelio (Ogie). She also leaves behind many relatives and close friends.
Adela's belief in life is, “It is better to give than to receive.” Her genuine love and care for all shone throughout her life, and she was beloved and respected by a multitude of people because of her exceptional character. She will be deeply missed!
