Peggy Alene (Starling) Johnson

Mrs. Johnson was born in Johnston County, NC on the seventeenth of September 1938 to the late Sammie Lester and Allie Lillian Starling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda S Lee; three brothers, Ray Starling, Robert Starling and Sammie Starling, Jr.

She was a very loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt and will be truly missed.

Peggy was very active in her community. She served as Grade mother for her children’s classes throughout school as well as a Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA Board, Red Cross ,WMU and church choir. She was so very talented and artistic. She loved to paint, decorate, make beautiful floral arrangements, fish, walk on the beach, participated in Save the Turtle Program and play board games and puzzles with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, Coyt A Johnson; children, Alan Johnson of Dunn, NC, Kelly Johnson Caviness and husband Marty of Fuquay Varina, NC, Michael Johnson and Gail Bianco of Holly Springs, NC; siblings, Susan Teffeteller and husband Spencer of Angier, NC, Danny Starling and wife Pam of Pine Level, NC, Jerry Starling and wife Deborah of Wilson Mills, NC; grandchildren, Lauren Caviness Watkins and husband Daniel, Amber Johnson Meade, Joshua Caviness; great grandchildren, Silas Meade, Parker Watkins, Coralee Watkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.
