Born in Chester County, SC she was a daughter of the late Willie W. and Hazel Smith Wilson. Mary Alice was a member of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Bell Florida but would find a church to worship in wherever she might be. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed volunteering in the church, especially cooking for her church functions. She will fondly be remembered as “Mother” to most everyone who knew her because of her caring nature who would always speak her mind no matter what. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Harrol Franks, a son, D.C. McManus, four brothers, Wade, Teddy, Johnny, Cornell and sister-in-law, Lois.
Survivors include her children, William, Susie, Randy, Teresa, Mary Ellen, and Tonya. Also are her brothers, Richard, William “Bill”,; a sisters-in-law Diane, Lisa, Debby; Brothers-in-law, Gary, Roger, Dean, Elbert; grandchildren, Alicia, Bradley, Bridgette, Tyler, Keith, Shane, Katelyn, Daniel, Kortney, Jacie, Charris, Julianna, Cade; Great-grandchildren, Riley, Rae, Christian, Noah, Christina, Kylee, Arrya, Aavalyn, Dianna, Kyler, Isabella and Chloe.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at Twelve-Thirty in the afternoon on Saturday the twentieth of October in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 11840 SC-90, Little River, SC.
