Born on April 18, 1950, Karen spent her life proving that laughter, a good story, and a pair of sandy toes could fix just about anything. Karen never met a stranger — only friends she hadn’t told her best stories to yet.
Karen leaves behind her beloved husband George, who was the calm to her whirlwind, and three children Jennifer, Melinda, and George (“Trey”). She also leaves seven grandchildren who adored their Grammie’s tales and five brothers who always knew Karen could outtalk, outlaugh, and outplay them all.
Karen loved classic rock, hitting jackpots at the slots, watching her birds and feeling the sand under feet. She was sociable, fiercely loving, and the proud, funny matriarch of a family who will miss her greatly — and celebrate her endlessly.
In honor of Karen, we invite everyone to pour a martini, blast some rock ‘n’ roll, and share your best story — because that’s exactly how she’d want to be remembered.
