John Cooper Skipper

Mr. Skipper was born in Brunswick County on June 15, 1939 and was the son of the late Lawrence Richard “Peg” Skipper and Mamie Mintz Skipper. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Skipper. He retired from the Brunswick County Water Department. Mr. Skipper attended Community Chapel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Kitty Walton Skipper; children, Kay Clemmons and husband Fred, Johnny R Skipper and wife Karen, Danny Skipper and wife Tammy, all of Leland; grandchildren, Becky, Bryce, Shelby, Tatum, Zach, Jaymie, Sam; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Austin, Gannen, Salem, Sophia, Collin; brother, Robert Skipper of Walnut, CA; sister, Joyce Midgett of Leland.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at three o’clock in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Bolivia/Supply Chapel, with Rev. Gordon Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter-Skipper Cemetery in Leland. Mr. Skipper’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
