James H Strickland

Mr. Strickland was born in Columbus County on December 29, 1933 and was the son of the late Thurman and Campie McCumbee Strickland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Strickland on January 8, 2023, two sisters Mary Ellen Strickland and May Costello, a brother Rupert Strickland. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a retired US Navy Veteran where he served as a deep sea diver.

He is survived by two sons, Tim Strickland and wife Lisa of Ash and Mark Strickland and wife Sandy of Supply; a granddaughter, Tiffanie Strickland; a brother, Terry McCumbee of Ash; a sister, Jane Gore of Nakina.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 29, 2023 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Bolivia Chapel with Reverend Lonnie Varnam officiating. Interment will follow in Mintz Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
