Mrs. Sullivan was born in Brunswick County on May 1, 1928, daughter of the late Talmage Alex Ganey and Sarah Carrie Ganey. She was wife of the late Rallie Lee Sullivan, Sr. and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Porter and Mary Lattie Chohoc, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Miller Sullivan and granddaughter Shawna Lynette Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan was an avid hunter. She enjoyed gardening and preserving vegetables. She was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include five children, Nancy Mills (BJ), R.L. Sullivan, Jr. (Marilyn Johnson), Gary Sullivan (Tracey), Tommy Sullivan (Margaret), and Steve Sullivan (Beth), all of Leland; twelve grandchildren, Darrell Turner, Tammy Sullivan Lemon, Adam Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, Kenny Sullivan, Rachel Sullivan, Alisa Sullivan, Ashley Mintz, Taylor Sullivan, Heather Sullivan, and Heath Sullivan; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; a brother-in-law, Jack Porter of Wilmington and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 25, 2021 at three o'clock in the afternoon at Town Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Rory Thigpen, Reverend Anthony Clemmons, and Reverend Tyson Schoch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Sullivan's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be H.L. Rich, Joe Best, Troy Martin, Nick Ivey, Sonny Porter, Jack Porter, and Robbie Phelps.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 24, 2021 from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Highway East, Bolivia.
