Born in Dayton, Ohio on January 27, 1929, he graduated from Chaminade High School at 16 and began working at Ohio Bell Telephone Company shortly thereafter. Russ received many promotions with the company which required him to move several times with his family throughout Ohio. After 39 years with the company Russ retired to Boca Raton, Florida.
He was a devout Catholic and was a huge car enthusiast his entire life.
Russ is survived by his wife, Anna of 35 years, a daughter, Theresa Kanavel, a son, Robert Arnold, two step-daughters, Lisa Bezick and Freida Gurdon, two step-sons, Matt and Rudy Stemplinger, 8 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Alma Hatter and 3 sons, John, William and Thomas.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 21, 2022 from 11am-1pm at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home followed by a Catholic Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton at 1:30pm and entombment immediately after Mass at Boca Raton Mausoleum at 2:45pm.
