Richard Natale Vaccaro, 74, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024 in the care of Hospice at Trustbridge, Delray Beach. Rich’s health had deteriorated after a negligent driver ran a red light causing a car accident. Subsequent lung issues and a fall sent him to Hospice Care on April 30, 2024.
Richard was born November 28, 1949 to Frank and Virginia in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Roosevelt, Long Island. He served two years active duty in Vietnam as an Engineer Specialist 4th Class. Following his military service, Richard obtained a Civil Engineering degree and worked for many years building roads and bridges in the Tri-State area.
Richard moved to Boca Raton, Florida in the mid 1980’s. He pursued his Civil Engineering career after passing Florida’s rigorous licensing process. He worked for many years all over Florida and in the Bahamas building roads, bridges and various other infrastructure projects. He survived his spouse Mora and had many years with his special friend Marlene. Rich had a life filled with family, friends and his dog Jackie. His interests included serving as President of The Racemasters Club, where he raced 1955 Chevy’s; riding and repairing motorcycles; sailing and Toys for Tots runs every year. Rich was able to build or repair anything. He was always ready to help family, friends and neighbors with any type of home repair and he was a consummate practical joker.
Richard was predeceased by parents Virginia and Frank, brother Ronald, and wife Mora. He is survived by his sisters, Ginger Metzger and Donna Bullis, and nieces and nephews, Amanda Lott, Christine Metzger, Elizabeth Bullis, Nicole Bullis, Jack Lott, Elliott Lott and Katherine Lott.
