My wife left me today. She died quietly in her sleep. As sportswriters say she left it all on the field. She had no more left to give.
Fate dealt Mary Lou daily challenges: occasionally heartbreaking tragedy but through it all her strength of character carried her through. She was at times fragile, but more often rock solid. Her strength was epic. Her love of her family: all encompassing. Each child and grandchild was a separate blessing to be loved, cared for, and worried about. She filled our house with love and laughter. It was my privilege to have played a role.
She didn’t have a lot of friends. But those she had were forever. If you are reading this note, you are one of them. Let’s not mourn her passing, let’s celebrate her life.
ps: Mary Lou has been cremated. There will be no funeral as she requested; her life story does not require one.
