Jerome Dennis Robbins passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at the age of 73. Jerry was born in Delaware and lived in Kansas City, MO and Seaford NY. He Graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park (Go Terps!) with a degree in Business. As a child and as a young man Jerry loved to travel. Destinations included Cairo, Rome, Greece and a special Christmas trip to Ethiopia to stay with Emperor Haile Selassie. He traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. Travel was in his blood!
When Jerry discovered Florida he found the perfect spot for him. Not only did he enjoy the golf and fishing; but he found the perfect person to share it with, Sharon. Together they spent the next nearly forty years building a life together with their son Russell in Boca Raton. Helping his clients manage their stocks and portfolios was a much-enjoyed career surpassed only by his homelife with Sharon and Russell. Wonderful relationships were nurtured at both home and work. Jerry loved his boat “Blue Chip” and fishing with Russell was pure delight. Jerry and Sharon had very special friends, which enriched life in sunny Florida going to the beach or at the neighborhood gatherings. Most of all his primary love was his family. He was the most caring and loving husband, father and brother always putting his family first. We all enjoyed him and his love of life no matter where he was.
Though his long battle with Parkinson’s disease made living his normal life difficult, especially in recent years, he never gave up and always bounced back. He was tough and he was a fighter until the end. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, his son Russell, his sister Alyce and of course, the many friends he cherished, no matter how long he had known them.
A celebration of life will be held at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home in East Boca, on Friday, December 30. Visiting hours will begin at 10 am, with a service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation; or to any charity of your choice.
