When he was discharged Chuck became interested and involved in politics. This led him out to California where he was the financial campaign manager for Barry Goldwater. After the campaign he was offered a position in Washington D.C. as the head fundraiser for the Republican Party. Chuck became disillusioned after a year and left to go back to Bay City, Michigan where he opened Laser Advertising. It was there he met Glenda, the love of his life. They married in 1972 and spent 48 wonderful years together. They both ran their businesses Laser Advertising and a woman's boutique. During that time, Chuck was enamored by the oil business and that was the beginning of Laser Exploration.
