Ann M. Merlo

Ann Marie Piccioni Merlo passed away suddenly on August 28, 2022 at the age of 85. She is survived by her loving five children Robin (Tom), Tom, Kim (Don), Bill (Ian), and Lisa (Jeb). She was the grandmother (“Nona”) to six grandchildren (Kassie, Christopher, Amber, Nikki, Cole, Rylee) and the great-grandmother to Maverick; she is also survived by her sister Diane (Bob), extended family, and loving friends.

Ann, born in the small town of Exeter, PA, couldn’t wait to leave the cold and make her way to the warm, big city of Miami, Florida where she met and married her husband Tom and raised their 5 children. She was an amazing cook, devoted mother, and a talented organizer—three very necessary skills for raising five children. Her pasta Sundays were a family tradition filled with amazing sauce, much laughter, and a constant flow of rotating guests.

She loved football, Patrick Mahomes, the Hallmark Channel and British Murder Mysteries. HSN became her go-to shopping source--much to the chagrin of her granddaughter Kassie—who spent hours packaging up her returns. Ann’s sense of humor and sweet tooth went hand in hand. Her child-like chuckles when caught hiding Hershey Kisses, eating an entire box of peeps, or fighting with Kassie to let her have another coke float, will be greatly missed.

After suffering 2 heart attacks, debilitating RA, a broken hip, and pneumonia, the past few years were not the easiest. Her strong determination, sense of humor, and stubborn (“Listen Linda”!) spirit, kept her going. Ann Merlo was beautiful inside and out and will be missed by all.
