Walter Irven Neff Sr.

Walter I. Neff, Sr. March 27, 1938 - May 28, 2014 Walter I. Neff, Sr., 76,of Bloomington, passed away on May 28, 2014 in I.U. Health Hospice. He had been in failing health for several years. Walter was born in Greenwood, IN to the late Byron and Hazel(Gates)Neff on March 27, 1938. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was a US Navy veteran. Walter married Mary Carroll in Greenwood in 1956. He and Mary were married 47 years. Mary preceded Walter in death in 2003. Walter was an ATM technician, working for several banks. He enjoyed woodworking and being with his family. He is survived by his two children: Walter “Tim” Neff, Jr. and wife Belinda, Theresa Neff and husband Paul Wilber. Walter is also survived by his brother Warren(wife Jaleen)Neff and five grandchildren: Duke Irven Neff and wife Misty Jane Sanchez- Neff, Lucas Harley-Byron Wilber, Jessica Lynn Moore, Angel Marie Neff and Gabriel Winchester Neff. Friends may call on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, IN 47404. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1 p.m. also in the funeral home. Burial in Chambersville Cemetery with military rites performed by the Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard.
