Obituary of Virginia (Wells) Fowler
Virginia Fowler, 99, of Bloomington, IN, surrounded by her family was promoted to Heaven on July 25, 2021. She was born on May 30, 1922 in Greene County Indiana to Curtis Wells and Clara Mauler. Virginia grew up in Bloomington Indiana which is where she met the love of her life, Raymond J "Barney"Fowler. The two were married on March 20, 1942 and were blessed with three children, Raymond C, Rebecca, and Richard. Virginia worked as a line leader at RCA where she retired from. Making many friends along the way and her passion for traveling, she started RCA Travelers. She planned eventful trips that would take the group to beautiful destinations. New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, Canada, Nova Scotia were a few of the trips that she planned. Many of the trips she was accompanied by her grandchildren. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren have all been blessed by her energy and spunk. While each had their own special and unique moments, we can all recall the stories that she would tell us. When she lived on Victor Pike, she would often sit with us on the bench swing that hung from a tree in the back yard and tell us about the "Good little girl and the bad little girl". With animation in her voice, we could listen to her for hours. She also taught us all that we needed to walk fast and drive fast. Most of us were not able to keep up with her on foot or in a car. Virginia was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church and Order of the Easter Star. Virginia is survived by her son Raymond C (Linda) Fowler of Solsberry. Grandchildren, Christina (Kevin) Perry of Indianapolis, Crystal (Donnie) Hillenburg of Solsberry, Angela (John) Huber of Ellettsville, Stephanie (Bill) Baxter of Ellettsville, grandson in law Greg Chambers of Bedford, 16 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her fur baby, Peppy. She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond J Fowler, her children Rebecca Covey, Richard Fowler, son in law Gary Covey, granddaughter Melissa Chambers, and her siblings, Sylvia Williams, Velma Thomas, James Wells and Caroline Elliott.
