Thomas Daniel McMahon, Sr., age 68, of Ellettsville, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at his residence. Thomas was born September 15, 1955 in Pierre, South Dakota. He was a graduate of Bloomington South High School. He was one of eight children born to Nettie Louise (Bergan) and Daniel Thomas McMahon. His parents, brother, Dennis McMahon, and sisters, Margaret Mallory, Joan Myers, Marcella McMahon, Janet Challenger, preceded him in death and are united with him in eternity. He is survived by two more siblings, Patricia Hammock and Robert McMahon. He was a beloved father to three children, Wendy Petree (Caleb), Thomas McMahon, Jr., and Anna Monnett (Benjamin). He was a proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Joshua Petree, Mariah Monnett, Isaiah Petree, Jordan Monnett, and Olivia Monnett.
He was an avid outdoorsman and lover of nature. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, listening to music, cheering on his local teams, and spending time with his family. He was a hard worker his entire life, starting at a young age. He was a dedicated employee of General Electric for many years and did contract worker as a residential painter for many more years. Although he was born out of state and moved around some in his youth, he became a proud and devoted resident of Bloomington, Indiana. He was beloved by his many friends and extended family members and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 31 at 1:00 p.m. at Owen Valley Christian Fellowship (338 State Hwy 43 Spencer, IN 47460).
