Robert E. Bayne, 72, of Martinsville passed away on January 11, 2019, surrounded by his daughters.
He was born to Eva Fawcett-Bayne-Lunsford and William Bayne on November 17, 1946.
Bob attended Bloomington High School, Enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard an aircraft carrier in the Philippines. He worked as an over the road truck driver for many years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He loved his family, reading, and listening to all genres of music.
Over the decades he had resided in Ellettsville, IN, Kissimee/St Cloud, FL and Martinsville, IN
He is survived by his mother, Eva Fawcett-Bayne-Lunsford, four daughters; Lori (Ron) Thomas, Tracie (Rusty) Lester, Tammy (Rob) Fritz, and Natalie (Cathy) Bayne, one sister Sharon (Larry) Webb, and his devoted companions; Java (dog) and Kitty Girl (cat).
He was Poppy to his six grandchildren; Keelea (Mitch) Kile, Taylor (Trent) Kile, AJ (Taylor) Hudson, Caycee (DJ) Wright, Alex Fritz, and Keaton Lester, as well as, his seven great-grandchildren; Grifinn, Tahlen, Grier, Charli, Harper, Gavin, and Zoie.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Susie Bayne, his father William Bayne, and step-father James Lunsford.(step father).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to your local Humane Society or Veterans Charity.
Bob was a very proud supporter for animal advocate and veteran advocate charities.
He loved to laugh.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm. pm in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St. Bloomington, Indiana 47401.
