Joyce Ann Croy, age 85, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice House. Born December 15, 1937 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Willis and Beatrice (Mobley) Shields. Joyce retired from the City of Bloomington Utilities Dept. where she worked as a cashier clerk. Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends and doing digital paint-by-number.
Joyce is survived by her son, Bruce (Jennifer) Crouch, of Bloomington, her daughter, Beth Ann Bennett, of Bloomington, step-daughter, Sabrina (John) Walker; two brothers, Bill (Helen) Shields and Victor (Lisa) Shields, both of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Croy on December 25, 2019, her father, Willis Shields, her mother, Beatrice (Mobley Shields Taylor and two sisters, Lorene Conley and Doris Coss.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St with Rev. Curtis Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
