Goldie Marie Isom, 94, of Bloomington, IN went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was born July 3, 1918 in Bloomington, IN the daughter of the late Grant Cecil Isbell and Nettie Billmeyer Isbell.
Goldie was a longtime member of Crossroads United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star Stanford Chapter # 533, where she was a past matron. She was a member of the Beauceant and the American Legion Auxiliary # 450. She was an avid reader, enjoyed adventures, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Goldie is survived by her eight children, Cindy (Don) Rafferty, Phyllis (Ronnie) Miller, Peggy (Jim) Druin, Arthur (Barbara) Isom, Terry (Debra) Isom, Marsha Isom, Luann Isom, and Dennis Isom; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Durward Isom; her son, Durward Isom, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Robert Dean Isom and Sommer Leigh Isom.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, officiated by Pastors Raymond New and Glen Stidd. Interment will follow at Garrison Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel.
