Forrest Raymond Moore, 81 of Ellettsville died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. He was born September 7, 1933 in Monroe County to Ralph Moore and Bessie Stevens Moore. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at Indiana University.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Nancy Allgood Moore of Ellettsville; two daughters, Mary LuAnne Lilly and Theresa Moore both of El Paso, Texas; a son, Gary Moore Sr. and his wife Rita of Ellettsville; seven grandchildren, William (Brechin) Newby III, Matthew Newby, Emily Newby, Jennifer (LeRanda) Moore, Gary Moore, Jr., Forrest (Kenzie) Moore and Jonathan Moore; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Coleen Weddle and Dorval Maxine Ketchem; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ralph, LeRoy and Lloyd Moore.
Forrest was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, where he loved attending mass. Other interests included going to the Elnora Farm Machinery Show every fall, where he loved to look at the tractors. He was a collector of many things and loved spending time on his property, mowing, feeding the fish in his pond or working to put a tractor back together.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2015 at 12:00 PM in St John the Apostle Catholic Church, 4607 West State Road 46, with Father Daniel Mahan officiating. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St.
