Charlotte J. Chance, 79, of Norman, Indiana, passed away December 13, 2012. She was born March 9, 1933 in St Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Phil, brothers Lloyd and Lee, and grandson Jesse. Charlotte was a graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was a licensed practitioner in real estate and an insurance agent associate, retiring after over 40 years of service.
Charlotte had a special way of making friends and family feel comfortable and welcome and always put others before herself. She was blessed with sharing her home with her granddaughter and four great grandchildren, giving her love and care every day. Those who visited her loved her kitchen table talks filled with laughter, advice and encouragement. She was a mentor and teacher of life.
Charlotte is survived by her three children, Ruth Gwinn (Preston) of Bloomington, Phil Chance Jr, (Kay) of Bloomington, Susan Chance Nolan (Aaron) of Mooresville, four sisters Leota Killin, Faye Caylor, Patty Mandabach, Karen Schmidt, three brothers Jimmy, Junior, and Chuck Hanger, four grandchildren, Amber Hurst, Cory Chance, David Chance, and Valerie Blankenship, seven great grandchildren, Taylor, James, Christopher and Jacob Hurst, Steven Hurst, Madalyn and Alexandra Chance,
Visitation is Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 4-8pm at Day Funeral Home; Bloomington, Indiana. Services will follow the next day, December 20 at 10am. Burial will be in Salt Creek Cemetery.
