She was preceded in death by her husband William Moran, parents Charles and Ethel Pointer, her brother Charles Pointer and sisters Greta Swank and Rena Smith. Betty is survived by three children: Patricia Stone of Westlake Village, CA, Janice Dagley of Stevenson Ranch, CA and Kevin Moran of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and an abundance of extended family that will miss her dearly.
Betty attended Morgantown High School in Indiana, later moving to Indianapolis where she met and later married William Moran. His new job at Indiana University settled them in Bloomington, where they resided most of their seventy plus years of marriage.
Known in the neighborhood as "Betty Homes and Gardens," she had a flair for creating beautiful interiors and exteriors wherever she lived. Betty lived as a passionate gardener, excellent seamstress, and loved furniture refinishing. She taught herself and mastered cake decorating, adorning her chocolate cake creations with beautiful roses sculpted from frosting decades before the cake decorating trend took hold. Her skills became an inspiration to her children and almost anyone who knew her. She was a compassionate caregiver throughout her life as she tirelessly tended a neighbor's broken hip, and later gave care to her dying niece.
Per her wishes, no memorial services shall be held but we celebrate her life in the love and beauty she left behind. Feel free to plant a flower in her honor as such a gesture would have given her joy, as did the many beautiful flowers she tended throughout her life.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.DayDeremiahFrye.com for the Moran family.
