Wellington Herbert

Surviving are his loving spouse, Evangeline of Bloomington; children Wensley (Teresa) Herbert of Bloomington: Pauline (Paul) Wrangler of Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren Claire Herbert of Irvine, CA: Cameron Herbert of Chicago, IL: Connor Herbert of Bloomington, IL; and siblings Vertuza (Mohammed) Qureshi, Verbina (Sunil) Osmond, and Winston (Sushil) Herbert, all of Denver, CO. He is preceded in passing by his parents William and Salomi; and siblings Washington, Viola, and Veda.

Wellington grew up in the city of Dehradun in Uttaranchal, India. He met, fell in love with, and married Evangeline Singh on December 21, 1967 in the city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, India. The two celebrated 54 years together and brought two wonderful children into their lives. Wellington graduated with a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the University of Agra. He worked as an engineer at the Oil and Natural Gas Commission in India. After moving to the United States, he was a systems engineer for Hathaway Corporation in Denver, CO for 25 years, before retiring to spend more time with his family. He and Evangeline moved from Colorado to Bloomington in 2016 and were members of First Presbyterian Church in Normal, Illinois. Wellington will be missed as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Honoring Wellington's wishes, cremation services will be provided by East Lawn Funeral Home 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL. The family will celebrate his life with a private service. Please view the online obituary, send condolences, and share memories at www.eastlawnmemorial.com.
