Mandy loved her family beyond measure. She was a devoted wife, mother, Grammie, Granny and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Thomas H. Folks, Sr. They were married on July 6, 1972 in Bloomington, IL.
Mandy was a caring and devoted mother to four children, Teresa Parsons (Timothy) Daugherty of Wapella, IL, Donna Parsons (Michael) Coit of Normal, IL, Thomas Folks, Jr. of Normal, IL and Donna Folks (James II) Whitehouse of Bloomington, IL. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren, Zoie Coit, Candy, Dusty and Vivian Cantrell, and Thomas Folks III.
Mandy was born in Bloomington, IL on May 23rd, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ruth (Ethington) Streenz, Sr., one brother, Theodore Streenz, Jr. and a daughter, Malinda Marlene. She is survived by two brothers, Michael (Vickie) Streenz of Tyler, TX, Christopher (Patricia) Streenz of Bloomington, IL and one sister, Carla Streenz of Clinton, IL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends she called “family.”
Mandy attended Normal Community High School and while raising her family and working full time she earned her GED in 1978. Mandy worked for General Electric Manufacturing Co as a laborer retiring after 29 years. She earned her teaching certificate for GARE Ceramic painting and held ceramic classes at her home base business, Happy Hands Ceramics for three years.
A celebration of life and family dinner will be announced at a later date.
