Mrs. Norma Jean (Vance) Kinsell, 96, of Saybrook, IL died peacefully in the comfort of her own home, with her adoring family by her side. Norma was born in Monticello, IL on February 17, 1928 to Floyd and Blanche (Headlee) Kinsell. She was a member of the Saybrook High School’s graduating class of 1946. On December 20, 1946 she married the love of her life, Dwayne Kinsell. The two were happily married for 64 years before Dwayne’s passing in December of 2010.
Norma was a strong-willed, intelligent woman who was happy to be the central figure in the lives of her family. She and Dwayne were devoted parents to their three children, and worked hard to provide for their family. They owned and operated Kinsell Mobile Home Park, formerly of Saybrook, IL for over 30 years.
Norma enjoyed watching television and would always tune in when her favorite western, Gunsmoke, was playing. Her westerns were entertaining, but held no candle to the true apples of her eye. She completely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and reveled in the time spent with them and cherished each memory made.
Surviving are Norma’s children: Gary (Carol) Kinsell Minier, IL, Larry (Janet) Kinsell Bloomington, IL, Sandy Sosamon Saybrook, IL; niece Michelle Bowen, special nephew Mark Vance Mansfield, IL; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Jason Kinsell, brother Dale Vance, sister Linda Vance, and son-in-law Larry Sosamon.
A private family visitation will take place Saturday October 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM at East Lawn Funeral Home 1102 Airport Rd Bloomington, IL 61704.
