Marilyn Irene Scurlock, 85, of Normal, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 6:23 a.m.at OSF St. Joseph in Bloomington. She was born September 3, 1933 in Pontiac, the daughter of Clair and Mary Koffoed Fosdick. She married Charles Scurlock on May 12, 1956. He survives.
Marilyn was a longtime clerical employee of the Paul F. Beich candy company. She was a member of the Cornbelt Kennel Club, which allowed her to travel around the Midwest to attend dog shows. She loved to crochet, was an avid reader, and enjoyed newspaper games and puzzles, and playing bingo.
She is survived by four children, Ted (Angie) Scurlock of Saybrook; Diane (Alex) Matthews of McLean; Eric (Song) Scurlock of Duluth, Minnesota; and Suzanne (John) Vandervort of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Douglas Scurlock of Gurnee; Carl (Jacinda) Huffman, Jr. of Bloomington; Tabitha (Dallas) Marshall of Bloomington; Christine (Larry) Andrist of Elgin; Laura (Steve) Starlin of Kingsley, Michigan; Jennifer (Tyrone) Byrd of New Lenox; Shauna (Cale) Kuester of Manhattan; three step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 12 step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
