She was born February 3, 1931 in Normal to Lucien and Minnie (Lippert) Beard. She married Lester “Les” Zimmerman on November 5, 1948 in Bloomington.
Katherine was involved in the Mothers Club and enjoyed lunches with her classmates, watching Nascar, reading, playing word finder and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children: Sherri (Larry) Nuckols of Downs, Gerry (Cathy) Zimmerman of Bloomington, Diane Waldron of Naples, FL, Randy Zimmerman of Normal, Sue Waldron of Bloomington, Alan (Kelly) Zimmerman of Bloomington, Brenda (Jim) Lawson of Downs and Darin Zimmerman of Bloomington; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister: Doris Jackson of LeRoy; two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son and a daughter.
Funeral Service will be at 11am Saturday January 10, 2015 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd. Bloomington, IL 61704. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Bloomington.
