Diana was the strongest person I have ever known.

She had a quiet tenacity about her that I see in each of her children and grandchildren.  

She would always try to do the right thing, and she tried to be the best in a world that often times left her little to enjoy.

She did enjoy her animals, her garden, BBQing on the deck, a cold beer, and watching her grandchildren grow up.  

She was immensely proud of Amanda and Tracy and fiercely protective of each.  

She was modest, humble, and private.  

She was a world traveller, who was an adventurer and explorer at heart although she rarely let that side of herself be seen.  

She swam with dolphins, barrel raced horses, held a brown belt in Karate, loved to scuba dive and snow ski and I know, if given the chance, would have parachuted out of a plane or bunji jumped off a bridge just for the thrill of it.

She could be mischievous and girly.  

Her path was often lonely and at times excruciatingly painful.  Yet, through it all, she maintained a strong sense of dignity and grace.  She accepted each challenge head on.  She set goals to conquer them despite all the odds.  She was inspirational.

I will always admire her.  I hope that if I ever face the things she faced, I will be able to maintain my presence as she did.

She is in heaven now.  I'm sure providing some pointers to St. Peter on how to make the pearly gates work better, or placing a frog statue somewhere in the garden, or perhaps she is just sitting on the porch watching the trees sway in the wind, with a cat at her feet, and a dog in her lap.

My heart goes out for Diana's family at this time ! Anyone who knew Diane knew she could be a tough woman but that was a quality about her that paid off in the long run. Diane you fought so hard in your battle with cancer over the years. The way you handled your struggles are inspirational, I hope to one day be as strong in my own struggles I may come across. It has been said before but I learned a lot from Diana throughout my short time working for her and she taught me lessons that I will never forget. From Me and the rest of your Baker's Square family, Rest in peace Diane, your gone but never forgotten.

My thoughts & prayers go out to Dianes family in this difficult time. I met Diane July 31st 2003 when she hired me at Baker Square as one of her waitresses. I worked for her for many many years & she was a big part of my life & memories. I loved Diane very much & will always carry wonderful memories of her in my heart forever.

I didn't really know Diana as an adult.  However, my family (mother, Shirley and 4 kids, age 5,7,9,11) lived with Uncle Fred, Aunt Bobbie, and their 3 kids, for a few months during some rough times.  Diana must have been about 12 then and I thought she was the most beautiful teenager there ever was.  I remember her as being very athletic, self-assured, popular....someone I wanted to be like.  She looked like she was having so much fun every day of her life.  To the immediate family, I am very sorry for your loss.  To lose a Mom is very difficult, I miss my Mom so much.  Still, there is hope that we will see them again and that means a lot.  And when we do, there will be "no more sickness, pain, or death, He will wipe every tear from their eyes." (Rev. 21:3,4)

My thoughts and prayers are with Dianas family at this very difficult time. I meet Diana on July 10, 1987, and we became great friends.  I had the pleasure of working with her for over 20 years. I love her and will miss her every day of my life.

Diana gave me strengh on days when I had none dispite her own struggles with her health over the years.  She was my first boss her in Springfield 25yrs ago.  I was honored to work for her again at Bakers Square.  She set bar high in her expectations from her employees and it made them reach for that bar and we were better for it.  I will miss her as I remember her stories about Clairabelle.
