Christopher T. Ruehle

Christopher T. Ruehle, 47, of Normal, IL passed away at OSF St Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL September 30, 2022. He was born January 4, 1975 to Heinz and Alma (Wutzke) Ruehle in Royal Oak, MI. Chris was a 1993 graduate of Berkley High School and served in the US Navy from 1993-1996.

Throughout his life, Christopher showed a love of music and composed many original works. He was involved in the Grace Church youth ministry as a leader and mentor, as well as overseeing the youth band. He received a bachelor’s degree in Family and Youth Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary. Christopher worked for State Farm in Bloomington for over 20 years and most recently worked as a Software Developer. He was also an avid collector of Legos, an interest which he passed down to many of his children.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah Ruehle, and their children: Juliana (20), Laura (18), Nicklaus (15), Adrien (14), Alexys (11), Bethani (9), Rachael (7), and Abigael (5). Also surviving is his father: Heinz, as well as Christopher’s siblings: Margrit (Herb) Bruss, Karin Wells (fiance: Mark Reed), and Randy (Pam) Ruehle. He is preceded in passing by his mother: Alma.

Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be held November 12th at 9:30am at Grace Church on Hovey Ave. with a Celebration Of Life immediately following at 11am.
