Visitation, will be on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Green Acres Chapel 11715 Cedar Ave Bloomington, Calif 92316 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a Rosary from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday February 11, 2019 at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 339 N. Sycamore Rialto 92376. A private burial for family members will follow on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
Bernie was born in Los Angeles, CA to Tony and Kate Long on March 16, 1930. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and wife of 56 years, Margaret Long. He is survived by his sister, Mary Francis Cardiff Paso Robles, his children Mary Newell (Tom) Crestline, Ann Long San Francisco and Carol Bromley (Dennis) Colton, four grandsons, Chris and Alex Bromley and Ben and Mat Newell, four great grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Dylan and Olivia Bromley.
Bernie began his quest for antique autos dating back to his teens. He was an avid collector and continued to build a vast collection of autos, including both rare and one of a kind treasures. He was an active member of numerous antique and classic car clubs and enjoyed a wide range of friends. He and his wife, Margaret, opened their business, B&B Trucks & Parts in 1965 in Bloomington where it continued to thrive until their retirement in 1995. Bernie will be missed by his family and friends who he enjoyed spending time with and recanting stories of days gone by and watching The Los Angeles Dodgers ball games and his personal favorite, Judge Judy, who he admired for her wit and tenacity.
