Alta was born May 7, 1914 in La Plata, Missouri. She was married to Elmer for over 67 years before he passed in 2003. They had 3 children, sons Charles (Kay) Topeka, KS, Carl (Karen) Running Springs, CA, and daughter, Ann Nolte, Rialto, CA. She is survived by her 3 children, 6 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, 1 step Great Grandchild and 1 step Great Great Grandchild.
Alta was a school teacher for over 40 years. Her teaching career started in a 1 room school house in Rural, Missouri and ended in the last 21 years as a Special Education teacher in San Bernardino, CA. She received a Bachelor's degree in teacher from the Teaches College in Kirksville, MO and a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Iowa, Iowa city, Iowa.
She was a member of P.E.O. for more than 80 years, to the Retired of Teacher Association, San Bernardino, Woman's Club, Rialto and Sunrise Church, Rialto.
Alta was a talented musician and loved playing her organ. After retiring she became a gifted Craft person and created many wonderful things which she shared with her family as gifts.
Visitation will be held at Green Acres Mortuary Chapel 11715 Cedar Avenue, Bloomington, CA, Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside CA, Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:01 a.m.
