William J Harrod, age 102, born December 12, 1921 in Flint, Michigan passed away on February 26, 2024. William was a resident of Odenville, AL and formerly of Fort Myers, FL. He was a WWII veteran and tool and die maker for AC Spark Plug for 37 years. He married Mary Regan in 1948 and together they raised their two daughters. William was a member of the Flint Christian and Missionary Alliance and a member of Shell Point Village Church in Fort Myers, FL.
William was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughters, Charlene Hopkins and Valerie Pigott (Ralph); grandchildren, Kenneth Garrett, Radley Pigott, and Rachel Pigott-Whitty; great grandchildren, Christopher Garrett, Rebekah Whitty; his sister, Mildred Dotter. He also leave behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
William will be interred in the Sarasota National Cemetery in Florida. The service for William will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. William and his family would like to thank Alabama Hospice and all who helped care for him during his illness and final days. The family asks that in lieu of flowers please send memorials to the Gideon’s and the American Bible Society in honor of William Harrod.
