Dr. William Pettus Buck, age 92, of Vestavia, Alabama went to Heaven, on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. William was born January 27, 1928. His earthly accomplishments were many, but when being lowered into an open grave, the only achievement that counts is knowing that your sins are forgiven and you have eternal life. Eternal life can only be obtained by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. At age 32 he trusted in, relied on and clung to the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross for him personally and paid the penalty for his sins. He wishes everyone who reads this make this same commitment so they too can have peace and the assurance of eternal life while they still live. “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul?” Matt. 16:26. There will be a graveside burial ceremony at Elmwood Cemetery December 26 at 11 am. He wishes to gratefully thank those who honored him while he was still here on this earth. He is preceded in death by his wife Janie Buck and his grandson Billy. He is survived by his children: Billy (Kelly) Buck; daughter, Mary Lou (Dusty) Davis. Grandchildren: Riley (Blake) Phillips, Andy (Teala) Buck, Cole (Camille) Davis, Honey and Chase Davis. Great Grandchildren: Davy, Sadie, Holland and Caspian Phillips; William and Joan Buck.
