"Grace was in all her steps, heaven in her eye, In every gesture dignity and love." - Milton, Paradise Lost Born in Rome, GA and raised in Birmingham, Mrs. Hall is remembered by her friends and family as a true Southern lady. She attended Woodlawn High School and worked for many years at Loveman's and Vaughan Weil in historic downtown where lifelong friends were made. She ended her career at Eye Foundation Hospital on Southside and retired to be with family. She was a longtime member of United Methodist Women at Lake Highland UMC in East Lake and the Firefighter's Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. Broach and Eula Dora Compton Broach; her husbands, Clarence M. Ensey and William R. Hall; her siblings, Linton Broach, Mary Stapp, and Margaret Jackson. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Ensey McLendon and Pam Ensey Brakefield both of Calera; her step-daughters, Marilyn Hall of Selma and Ann McKee of Bristol, TN; her grandchildren, Scott McLendon of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Craig McLendon of Birmingham, Marla Brakefield (Cary) Burch of Calera, Blane Brakefield of Austin, TX, Margi McKee (Jeff) Colley of Bristol,TN, and Vicki McKee (Rob) Wagner of Reading, PA; and great-grandchildren, Cade Burch of Calera, Sami Wagner of Reading, PA, and Brian Colley of Bristle, TN, and many loving nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Roslyn Gregory, Delilah Harris, Ruth Harris, and Dorothy Stallworth, for their years of loving attention. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 11 at 1 p.m with visitation one hour prior at Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35211. Officiating the service will be Ms. Jodi Miller and Pastor Norman Stapp. Pallbearers will be Scott McLendon, Craig McLendon, Blane Brakefield, Cary Burch, George Ensey, and Hilton Shirey.
