Tracy Lee Johns passed away peacefully in Birmingham, Alabama on June 11, 2022, surrounded by family. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Tracy grew up in Birmingham, where he graduated from Homewood High School and the University of Montevallo. His true joys were attending Mobile’s Mardi Gras, cooking imaginative dishes in various cuisines, and traveling the country. Tracy is survived by his wife, Karen Johns, his son Danny Johns of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his sisters Sandi Vaughn (Mike) of Birmingham and Trudy Burdette (Jeff) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his brother Scott Johns of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents John Johns and Marguerite Johns. A memorial service honoring Tracy’s life will take place at 2 p.m. on July 16, 2022 at Rideout's Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham, preceded by a visitation at 1 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Grandview Medical Center for their excellent care over the past several weeks.
