Phillip Ralph Dillon

DILLON, PHILLIP RALPH, age 80, of Birmingham, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and John Dillon, Sr.; brothers, John Dillon, Jr. and Bill Dillon; and daughter, Donna Dillon. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Joan Coe Dillon; daughter, Dian Dillon Hosmer (Jimmy); sons, Phil Dillon (Leslie) and Lee Dillon; brothers, Hugh Dillon (Barbara) and Brad Dillon; grandchildren, Tyler Dillon, Cole Dillon, Stone Dillon, Katie Dillon and Madison Dillon; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ralph was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 54 years where he served the church in many capacities including teaching Sunday School and driving the bus. He retired from South Central Bell after 37 years of service and then worked for 10 years at Southern Services. Ralph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who touched many lives. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His service will be at the chapel on Thursday, August 8, 2013 beginning at 2 PM with Rev. Jack Green officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
