Patsy Lee Daugherty Pennington, widow and loving wife to Clyde S. Pennington of Birmingham and formally from Cocoa Florida, passed away May 31, 2015. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10 at 9AM at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel, with graveside service at 10. During WWII, when she was just 17, Patsy worked in the “Secret City” of Oak Ridge Tennessee, and held special security clearance. She also worked as a secretary at NASA in Cocoa Beach, Florida during the 80’s and 90’s. She and Mr. Pennington retired in 2000 and moved to Birmingham in order to be closer to family. Patsy loved to dance and play games and did so as often as possible. Known for her smile and kind heart, Patsy was crowned Ms. Golden Living of 2014. She loved makeup and jewelry and had a knack for decorating. Her last word was “Penny”, which was her nickname for her one true love, Clyde Pennington. Survivors: Sister Elizabeth Turner, daughters Patti Pennington and Lisa Chambers, grandchildren Lorien Chambers and Christopher Chambers, and great granddaughter Mia Harmony.
