Helen Paige Golden, 51, returned Home to regain her wings from our Lord on Saturday April 3, 2021. She was born on February 28, 1970 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by her husband John Andrew Golden of Chelsea, Alabama; her daughters Hannah Caroline Glaze (24) (Colton Blackburn) of Olympia, WA, Olivia Eléna Glaze (21) of Birmingham, AL; John’s sons Jacob Andrew Golden (20) and Joshua Benton Golden (17) both of Hayden, AL, her parents Dr. Terry Sutton and Kay Sutton of Chelsea, Alabama, her brother Reginald Sutton (Stephanie), John’s parents Ellis Palmer Golden, Jr. JD and Martha Jane Golden, John’s sister Eva Michele Griffin (Jeff), John’s brother Matthew Kevin Golden (Stephanie), many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. Paige had many accomplishments in her life including Miss Samford University and high placements in several Miss Alabama pageants. She excelled in theater productions and television advertising and basically anything she set out to do. To hear Paige sing was a true life experience. She cherished as her highest accomplishment her girls and loved them with all her heart. She returned to college studies later in life finishing with a Masters of Education with honors from The University of Montevallo (Alabama) with specialty in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Paige was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She worked for years during school studies and after graduation providing intense counseling services through several opportunities and most recently reached her stated goal of starting her own private practice. Paige was unassuming, non-judgmental, accepting, caring, a listener with a purpose not to provide an answer but just to listen. Countless persons from friends to clients to general acquaintances to strangers came to find friendship, peace and healing of mind from what John knew her to be, an Angel God gave to us for a moment. Her talents, beauty, stage presence, intelligence and ability to capture attention just by walking into a room were undeniable, but her private time at home was her place of solace and rest. Today we can come together in celebration of Paige being Home, at rest. When she took her last breath here, she took her next breath in heaven. Her Angel wings recovered to continue to do God’s work.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12 pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2 pm. Services will be livestreamed on www.facebook.com/ridoutselmwood.
