Mildred Nabors Keeton, affectionately known as “Meme”, age 105, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023. She was born on August 14, 1918, to Guy and Jettie Nabors. She was raised in Amory, MS and graduated from Amory High School Class of 1936.
She was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church, in Birmingham for over 53 years; Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA; and in her final years, after returning to Birmingham, at Huffman Baptist Church.
She retired from the Baptist Health Systems after serving as a receptionist /dormitory mother at the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Montclair Baptist Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herby Dallas Keeton in 1996 and her beloved son Eddie Keeton in 1955. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her only two siblings.
She is survived by her three children, Guy Keeton, Kay Farrow and Brenda Legg; five grandchildren: Bradley Farrow (Jill), Wesley Legg (Amy), Sean Farrow (Sandy), Janeena Willoughby (Kip) and Stephanie Loyd (Travis); and sixteen great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mildred will be held at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, Trussville, AL, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with visitation for friends and family at 10:00 AM. Larry Smith will preside over the service.
