Mike lived his life in service to others through acts of kindness and of love. He worked hard and laughed hard. There was no such word as a stranger in his vocabulary. Family and friends meant everything to him.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the son of Marion (Alton) Fowler and Mary Agnes McReynolds Fowler. He graduated from Thompson High School in 1977. He was a resident of Montevallo, AL. He was a Sales Distributor for Alabama Home Products.
He enjoyed playing golf, coaching baseball, spending time with family and friends. He was a teller of life stories and a joke or two. He had a laugh that just made you smile and laugh along with him.
He is survived by his son Michael (Mikey) Alton Fowler [Kayla]; his sisters Darlene Fowler- McCool and Judy Gentry; nephews Scott Knight [Krista] and Ethan McCool; nieces Danielle Hall [Bryant], Kristina Strickland and Allyssa Gentry; great nephews Caydan Knight and Anthony Hall; great nieces Caylee and Cara Knight, Madelyn Hall and Blakely Strickland. He is predeceased by his father and mother Alton and Mary Fowler.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on February 24, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, Alabama 35235 (205-655-2173).
The family of Mike wishes to extend our sincere thanks and deep gratitude for all expressions of sympathy and act of kindness shown during this time of bereavement.
