Michael E Bailey

Michael E Bailey, age 62, of Ashville, Alabama passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023. Mike is preceded in death by his parents; Bob and Oral Bailey and his daughter, Sarah Jane Bailey. Mike is survived by his wife, Alison Spurrier Bailey; his children; Matthew, Sam, Mia and John Bailey, his brother; Bill Bailey and his sister; Carol Austin. Mike was a former home builder and inventor who patented and manufactured SpeedArch, a masonry product. Mike was a family man who had a loving heart, which led him and Alison to adopt five children from three different Asian countries. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and competing in several sprint triathlons. Mike participated in several construction mission projects in different countries. In the last year, he designed and built a chicken and goat barn for an orphanage in Tanzania and built a frame and roof for a church in Uganda, all while fighting cancer. Mike chose to follow Jesus at an early age and was the compass, always pointing his family to the Lord.

A visitation for Michael will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rainbow Presbyterian Church, 3220 Rainbow Dr, Rainbow City, AL 35906, followed by a celebration of life service beginning at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to Rainbow Presbyterian Church for mission work done in Africa.
