On September 7, 1940 she married Robert J. Tucker, Jr. and they were married for 63 years until his death on July 9, 2004. Mary was a musician, artist, excellent cook, seamstress, crafts person and loved to garden. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Caroline McCune and her husband Robert J. Tucker, Jr.
Mary is survived by two sons: Robert J. Tucker, III (Kathleen) of Birmingham and William H. Tucker (Linda) of Daphne; five grandchildren: Michael R. Tucker (Mary), Amy Tucker Ballar (Chris), Karen Luce, Susan Hanner and Dr. Laura Cepeda (Matt); 10 great grandchildren: Matthew & Bailey Tucker, Jane & Shea Ballar, Katherine & Gregory Luce, Trace & Max Hanner and Delaney & Nolan Cepeda.
Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends and she was a role model and inspiration to all of us.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful people at Brennity at Daphne for all the love and care that they gave to her for the last 13 years.
Her Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the historic Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Johns Ridout's Mortuary - Elmwood Chapel is directing.
