Mary G. McIntyre

Birmingham, AL.

Mary was born in Birmingham on December 20, 1931. She grew up in

Tarrant where she attended Tarrant High School. She graduated in 1949.

She then began a 43-year career with the Housing Authority of the

Birmingham District.

Mary was a long-time member of NorthPark Baptist Church (formerly

Roebuck Park Baptist church). Mary attended regularly until the pandemic.

She greatly enjoyed and looked forward to her outings with the Funsetters.

Mary enjoyed reading. She read westerns and mysteries, especially

mysteries. She was a great cook even though she did not like cooking at all.

Her family always looked forward to her squash souffle at holiday

gatherings. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She always spent days

getting all her decorations out and put up.

Mary is remembered by all who know her as being sweet and generous. Her

family was always the most important thing in her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd McIntyre and by her

son, Mark McIntyre.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen McIntyre. She is also survived by

her nephews, Roger Reid, Barry Reid, and Jimmy Reid, and by her niece,

Wanda Schrimsher.

Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy,

Birmingham, AL 35235, April 18, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

Graveside service will be at Jefferson Memorial, 1591 Gadsden Hwy,

Birmingham, AL 35235, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 am.
