Jessie Marie Alexander King, age 89, of Pinson passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. King: parents Pierce and Alma Alexander; brother Charles Alexander (Nell); sister Jean Thrasher; and daughter-in-law Linda Brooks King. Mrs. King is survived by sons Ralph L. King, Jr. (Becky) and Joe King; grandchildren Jennifer Hicks, Scott Hicks (Michelle), Zach King, and Seth King; great-grandchildren Chaney Hicks, Chase Hicks, Kate Hicks, and Jacob King; and brother Col. William P. Alexander (Ann).
She was a kindergarten teacher at Huffman Baptist Church for over forty years at Clayridge Baptist Church for over ten years. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Confederacy, and a member of the Alabama Genealogical Society.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery following the service. Bro. Floyd Plummer will be officiating.
