Juanita Hill was born November 10, 1952, to the late Gertrude Hill and Perry Pippen, in Boligee, Alabama. She was the first born of two children. At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined St. Paul Baptist Church, Boligee, Alabama. She later attended Miller Memorial Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
Juanita attended Paramount High School in Boligee, Alabama, where she graduated in the Class of 1971. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama in Business Administration. She later received her Master's Degree in Business Education from Alabama A&M University, Normal, Alabama.
Juanita was presently employed with the Birmingham Board of Education as a Business Education Instructor at Parker High School for 30 years. She also taught for 13 years at Holy Family High School and one year at Sylacauga High School. She was a member of many professional organizations.
Juanita was a mild-mannered, kind soul, who stayed to herself and was passionate about the things she loved, and they were her family and her profession. She transitioned this life on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Hill; father, Perry Pippen; grandfather, Rollie Hill; and grandmother, Emma Chavis. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Jeanette Hill Watters (Richard); niece, Danielle Watters Jones; nephew, Richard Watters, III; great nephew, Antonio Jones, Jr.; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to express their thanks for all attending Ms. Hill's service to follow the protocol for social distancing and asks that masks be worn.
A visitation for Juanita will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr., Birmingham, AL 35211.
