JOYCE MARIE HATTAWAY, age 72 of Birmingham, went to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, November 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hattaway; parents, Willis and Sarah Macon; brothers, Billy Ray Macon, Willis Macon, Jr. and Carl Macon; and sister, Debra Morris. She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Crowson; sons, Lawrence Viles, Marcus Hattaway and Joshua Hattaway; brother, Philip Morris (Ellen); sister, Ethel Troxell (Bobby); grandchildren, Kristin Bice (Jimmy Brady), Frazier Bice, Brittany Bice (Cody Brasher), Ewan Viles and Logan Viles; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; numerous wonderful friends; and special bowling friends, Steve, Donnie, Roger, Jane and others not named. Joyce worked as a nurse for many years at St. Vincent’s Hospital and was awarded the Wayne Rogers Award for compassion. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Research.
