Johnny M. Suggs, age 82, of Pinson, AL passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Johnny was born November 12, 1935 in Walker County, Alabama to the late Curtis and Cora Mae Suggs. He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Sandra Jane Suggs.
Johnny is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Wilkinson (Timothy) and Sharon Martin (Leigh); his granddaughter Holly Jean Tuggle; and his beloved poodle, Gabe.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 18 years prior to his retirement in 1973. Johnny then worked for Jim Walters Corporation, retiring as a supervisor after more than 20 years of work. He loved fishing, golfing, gardening, and traveling. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL. Following the visitation will be a Graveside Service at 11:30 AM at Forest Crest Cemetery, 5730 Highway 78 E, Irondale, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
