Jeannie Inez Simpson died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 at the age of 82. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Charles Alvin Simpson Sr., parents, Curvis and Nellie Tarence of Tarrant City, Al.; son, Charles A. Simpson Jr. of Pleasant Grove, Al., and sisters, Virginia Heuer of Pleasant Grove, Al. and Estelle Brookshire (Eddie) of LaGrange, GA. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Simpson McCarty (David) and Robyn Simpson Hontzas (Arther); grandchildren, Joshua McCarty (Shelly), Chloe A. Hontzas and her great grandchildren, William and Nicholas McCarty all of Birmingham. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature, her love of God, her uncompromising faith in him, and for the love and compassion she had for her family.
A graduate of Tarrant High School, Tarrant, Al., Jeannie went on to hold multiple positions. Beginning with East End Memorial Hospital, she also worked with Retina Specialists, Dr. Morris and Dr. Witherspoon, and held her final position with Pediatric physicians, Dr. Heilpern and Dr. Reynolds. She retired in 2004 to spend time with her grandchildren and to embrace her love of gardening and reading. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pinson.
Jeannie was laid to rest at Forest Crest Cemetery, Irondale, Al. with a small private family funeral. She will be greatly missed but will forever be in our hearts and minds.

A visitation for Jeannie will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
