James Ross Shackelford

James Ross Shackelford, "Ross" a.k.a "Rossman" went to live in the house of the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday November 14th. 2014. He was born August 07, 1993 in Birmingham, AL. The son of Patti Lynn (Ross) Shackelford and James Frederick Shackelford, III. Ross was an honor student at Auburn University, a graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School. He played varsity football at Hewitt, and athletics was one of his passions. Ross was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church and a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He made the Dean's list at Auburn several times. Ross was dedicated in his commitments to the Lord Jesus, to his family, his many friends and to sports, especially football. He was one of the biggest Auburn fans there has ever been! He was preceded in death by his sister Catherine Anne Shackelford, and grandmothers Bettie Boyd Shackelford and Betty Lawley Ross. He is survived by his parents, his beloved sister Sarah Margaret Shackelford Naramore, her husband Kevin Lee Naramore, and nephew Noah Thomas Naramore (Birmingham), his grandfather Raymon C. Ross of Birmingham, his Aunt Susan Lowman (Huntsville). His Aunt and Uncle Deborah Hughes Shackelford and John Boyd Shackelford. Numerous cousins and hundreds of friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the Auburn Christian Fellowship, and the Reformed University Fellowship of Auburn. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. 2200 Briarwood Way, Birmingham, AL 35243.
