James "Jim" Tunney Russell Jr., age 79, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. He is survived by his niece, Laura Dickey and nephew, John McLay.

Jim graduated from the University of Alabama and was formerly employed by the State of Alabama.

A visitation for Jim will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johns-Ridout's Funeral Parlors, 2116 University Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35233, in the West Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Jim's favorite organization, The O'Neal Library in Mountain Brook. 50 Oak St, Mountain Brook, AL 35213.
